Mai Nguyen Do

Board Member & Director of Communications and Public Relations

Mai Nguyen Do (they/them) is a Saugus local, poet, researcher, educator, and campaign strategist with experience in field organizing, digital organizing and fundraising, and issue advocacy.

Mai is a proud graduate of College of the Canyons and Washington College. They are pursuing their Ph.D in political science at the University of California, Riverside.

Mai currently serves as an Assembly District Delegate to the California Democratic Party for Assembly District 38. Previously, they served on the executive board of the Santa Clarita Valley Young Democrats, and in 2020, they worked as the field director on Trustee Sebastian Cazares’ historic campaign for the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees, helping to deliver victory for the now-current youngest elected Latino in California.

As an officer in their unit of UAW 2865, Mai is dedicated to securing workers’ right to safety and a living wage. They are also passionate about the fight for queer rights, building solidarity within communities of color, and defending community members from deportation.
