Endorsement Recommendation Committee Chair
Peter Warda is a first-generation Assyrian American and has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 30 years. He brings his policy and advocacy knowledge having studied at Pepperdine University, obtaining his Master’s in Public Policy with a specialization in State and Local Policy and International Relations. Prior to that, Peter received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and a Minor in International Security Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University.
Peter worked for a high-profile public affairs firm, headquartered in Santa Clarita, for the past five years, where he mainly managed entitlement efforts for residential and commercial developments throughout the SCV and Los Angeles County. His other work included advocating on behalf of a wide array of clients. After a couple of years, Peter transitioned and worked with the management team that led the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Currently, Peter serves as the Senior Legislative Affairs Manager for a business advocacy organization, which serves the San Fernando Valley and cities of Santa Clarita and Los Angeles. He is responsible for advocating for business issues on local, state, and federal levels, as well as advocating policies, legislation and regulation that are conducive to a positive and successful business environment.
Peter Warda is active in his Assyrian community, serving as the President of the Assyrian American Association of Southern California. He served has a Board of Director from 2016 to 2020, where he was then elected as President. Peter is looking to run for his second, and final term, this year. He previously served as a committee member for NextSCV, a young professionals council aimed to develop the next generation of leaders in the Santa Clarita Valley through personal and professional development, civic engagement, and network building opportunities. Peter also was part of the committee in 2016 that revived the NextSCV Council for young professionals throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
